Datovka 4.28.0, developed by CZ.NIC, z.s.p.o., is a cross-platform desktop client designed to connect users to the Czech national Data Mail system (datové schránky), a legally recognized electronic document exchange platform used by citizens, businesses, courts and public authorities. Built on open-source code released under GNU GPL v3, the program mirrors familiar e-mail client conventions so that incoming and outgoing government correspondence, official notices, legal documents and tax forms can be browsed, searched, tagged and archived in a local SQLite database even when the user is offline. Three major versions have been published so far, each refining support for advanced features such as batch signing with qualified certificates, automatic decryption of sealed messages, time-stamped export to PDF/A for long-term preservation, and server-side synchronization that keeps the local vault in step with the central repository. Because the software caches everything locally, institutions that must retain communications for years can satisfy audit requirements without manual backups, while individual users gain instant keyword search across thousands of messages. The client runs natively on Windows, macOS and most Linux distributions, and installation packages are supplied in common formats for each system. Datovka is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources (e.g. winget), always delivering the latest version, and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
