ISODESIGN 1.4.4, the single-release engineering utility published by Grawe + Bertram Ingenieure, belongs to the CAD & Building Physics category and exists solely to simplify the configuration of the company’s proprietary thermal-bridge-free façade connectors ISOPRO and ISOPRO 120. Architects, structural engineers, and energy consultants open the program when they need to translate U-value targets and load-bearing requirements into exact component drawings: the wizard first prompts for the construction type (concrete-to-concrete, concrete-to-masonry or concrete-to-timber), then for the desired insulation thickness, fire-resistance class and static loads. On the basis of these inputs the software calculates the permissible shear and tensile forces, selects the appropriate stainless-steel bars and insulating cores, and produces a dimensionally accurate 2-D detail together with a parts list that lists every stainless-steel shear grid, tension plate and mineral wool strip. Because ISOPRO elements are frequently used in Passive-House and low-energy retrofits, the same session also exports thermal-performance data in PHPP and EN ISO 10211 formats so that the connection can be dropped straight into the overall building model without manual re-typing. A built-in plausibility check warns whenever the projected linear thermal transmittance exceeds the national threshold, allowing the designer to switch to a thicker variant or to add an extra insulation layer before the order is sent to the factory. The 1.4.4 release, the only version released to date, runs on Windows 7 through 11, stores projects in a compact .iso file, and prints scaled plans on any device that supports DXF or PDF export. ISODESIGN is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads delivered through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always supplying the latest build and enabling batch installation alongside other applications.
