LopeEdit 5.8.1, published by LopeSoft, is a tabbed programmer’s editor designed to replace Windows Notepad while offering advanced coding support. The application opens multiple files in a single window through draggable tabs, and can split the interface into horizontal or vertical tab groups for side-by-side editing. Syntax highlighting is pre-configured for more than fifteen languages—including C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, ASP, JSP, PHP, Perl, SQL, CSS, Pascal, Visual Basic, VBScript, and COBOL—and can be customized further by the user. Full UNICODE and UTF-8 encoding is supported, together with automatic recognition of DOS/Windows, Unix/Linux, and Macintosh line-ending formats. While typing or navigating, the editor instantly highlights matching brackets and braces, and an integrated toolbar search box accelerates string location within large documents. Docking utility windows such as a built-in file browser, folders panel, and tool output console can be pinned anywhere on the main frame or set to auto-hide, emulating the flexible layout found in modern IDEs. Visual themes borrowed from Office 2000, XP, 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 let users tailor the appearance to their preference. LopeEdit is distributed in two editions: LopeEdit Lite, which is freeware and contains the core editing feature set, and LopeEdit Pro, a shareware edition that unlocks additional advanced capabilities and may be evaluated for 30 days before purchase. The program belongs to the Source Code Editors category and is currently offered in version 5.8.1, the only maintained release line. LopeEdit is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads supplied through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always providing the latest build and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
