MiTeC Icon Explorer 5.3.0 is a lightweight system utility designed for browsing, searching, extracting and organizing icons that reside inside Windows files, executables and icon libraries. The application opens ICO, DLL, EXE, ICL and other resource containers, displays every contained image in a resizable grid, and lets users copy, delete or export individual icons or entire sets to standalone .ico files, BMP images or new 32-bit DLL icon libraries. A built-in recursive scanner can be pointed at any drive or folder hierarchy to locate every icon-bearing file automatically, after which found images can be filtered by size, color depth or name pattern; results are shown in a searchable list that can be exported for documentation. Typical use cases include graphic designers who need to harvest existing glyphs for interface mock-ups, developers who want to replace or compare application icons, and system administrators who document corporate software assets; private and educational users can also employ the tool to rebuild personalized icon libraries or to recover lost artwork from legacy executables. The current major release no longer supports the obsolete MicroAngelo 16-bit ICL format or 16-bit NE executables, but fully handles 256 × 256 Vista/Windows 10 PNG-compressed icons as well as 32-bit alpha-blended images. The program is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources, always delivering the latest version and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
