Pádár Tamás

Pádár Tamás is an independent developer whose compact utility, MndpTray.Core, brings MikroTik’s proprietary MikroTik Neighbor Discovery Protocol (MNDP) from the command line to the Windows system tray. Network administrators who manage RouterOS, SwitchOS, or other MikroTik gear can now watch live neighbor announcements without opening Winbox or a terminal: the tiny background process listens for Layer-2 MNDP broadcasts, lists every discovered device with its identity, IP, MAC, platform version, and uptime, and lets users launch Winbox, WebFig, SSH, or a custom tool with one click. Typical workflows include rapid inventory of new CPEs on a tower segment, quick verification that a CAPsMAN controller is visible after firmware upgrades, or spotting duplicate IPs before they break roaming. The unobtrusive icon changes color when new units appear or disappear, and a searchable history log helps trace intermittent devices. Because the code is open-source and portable, it is often carried on technician laptops, field USB sticks, or pushed through RMM scripts to remote offices. Settings can be exported as an INI for mass deployment, and optional balloon tips keep junior staff informed without cluttering the desktop. The publisher’s software is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads delivered through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always installing the latest version and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
