Barcode2Win, developed by Paludour, is a lightweight utility designed to turn any Android phone or tablet into a wireless barcode scanner that feeds decoded data directly into Windows applications over Wi-Fi. Positioned in the System Utilities / Input Tools category, the program listens on the local network for incoming data from the companion Android app; once a barcode is scanned, the string is instantly inserted into the active Windows field as if it had been typed on the keyboard, eliminating the need for dedicated handheld hardware. Typical use cases include stock-taking in small warehouses, logging book or product IDs at point-of-sale stations, adding tracking numbers to shipping forms, and quickly entering serial codes into spreadsheets or inventory databases without extra cables or drivers. Version 1.8.8595, the only public release to date, provides a small-footprint server executable that autodetects the device on the LAN, supports EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, QR and other common symbologies, and requires no installation on the PC side beyond launching the downloaded binary. The Android counterpart is available separately on Google Play, while the Windows receiver is offered for free on get.nero.com, where downloads are supplied through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always delivering the latest build and enabling batch installation alongside other applications.
