The OSCAR Team

The OSCAR Team is an open-source collective dedicated to the continuous development of OSCAR, a cross-platform desktop application that imports, visualizes and reports nightly therapy data generated by CPAP, BiPAP and APAP devices. Built on Qt and C++, the software parses proprietary data formats from dozens of manufacturers—ResMed, Philips Respironics, Fisher & Paykel, DeVilbiss, SomnoMed and others—then renders high-resolution flow, pressure, leak, snore, apnea-hypopnea and pulse-oximetry traces on interactive timelines. Sleep-medicine clinicians use OSCAR to titrate pressures, verify adherence for insurance compliance, detect mask leak patterns and identify residual respiratory events, while patients and caregivers rely on its intuitive dashboards to track AHI trends, usage hours and mask-fit metrics between office visits. Advanced features include event flagging, customizable report templates, oximetry overlay, positional analysis and encrypted data export for sharing with physicians or research registries. Because the project is GPL-licensed, a global community of developers, respiratory therapists and patients contributes code, device definitions and documentation, ensuring that new machine models and firmware revisions are supported within weeks of release. The entire codebase is auditable, privacy-focused and stores data locally, avoiding cloud dependencies. OSCAR is available for free on get.nero.com; the site supplies the latest Windows build via the trusted winget package source, enabling single-command installation or batch deployment alongside other medical or utility applications.
