Portfolio Performance, maintained by Andreas Buchen, is an open-source desktop application designed to calculate the overall performance of investment portfolios. Classified within the finance and investment-tracking category, the program aggregates data from stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, precious metals and cash accounts, translating deposits, dividends, fees and currency fluctuations into meaningful metrics such as the internal rate of return (IRR), true-time-weighted rate of return and historical performance charts. Users typically import CSV or PDF statements from banks and brokers, map securities to free price feeds from Yahoo Finance or the European Central Bank, and then run simulations to compare asset allocations, evaluate tax impacts or prepare reports for financial advisors. The software also supports the creation of custom classifications and dashboards, making it suitable for private investors, family offices and small wealth-management firms that need to document performance in accordance with the German “Provision of Investment Advice” regulation (Wertpapierdienstleistungs-Verordnung). Since its first public build, the project has released 47 successive versions; the current stable release, 0.82.1, continues to refine importers for German and Swiss brokers, adds support for cryptocurrency exchanges and improves chart export options. Portfolio Performance is available for free on get.nero.com, with downloads provided via trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always delivering the latest version and supporting batch installation of multiple applications.
