Hayman

Hayman 1.06, published by the sz development, is a lightweight communication utility created to let maintenance engineers, instrumentation technicians, and process-control specialists interrogate HART-enabled field devices directly from a Windows workstation. The application opens a transparent gateway to sensors, pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature probes, and other instrumentation that embed the Highway Addressable Remote Transducer protocol, eliminating the need for proprietary handheld configurators or expensive vendor-specific software suites. Once a HART modem or compatible RS-485/USB interface is attached, Hayman scans the multidrop loop, lists every detected device by its unique poll address, and exposes static and dynamic variables such as primary measured value, percent range, device temperature, supply voltage, and detailed status bits. Technicians can review device descriptors, tag names, serial numbers, and manufacturing IDs, and can optionally force loop-current adjustments or perform simple trim operations for zero/span calibration without powering down the process. The program’s read-only mode protects critical configurations while still granting visibility into alarm flags, diagnostic alerts, and secondary process variables, making it equally suited for commissioning checks, routine health audits, and troubleshooting intermittent faults. Because the interface presents live data in a concise hexadecimal and engineering-unit grid, users can quickly copy values to spreadsheets or maintenance logs for trending and compliance documentation.
